LESSON 3

THEME: The Holy Spirit and Jesus

1. Mark 1:9, Luke 4:14-16, Acts 1:2, Hebrews 9:14. All these texts show us the connection and the relationship between Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

2. There was a union between Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

3. He did all the actions because he has the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Hence they were all good actions. Mark 1:10, Luke 1:35, Luke 4:14, Luke 4:18. All these refer to the Spirit in His life.

4. Jesus promises thus same Spirit to his followers. John 14:15-20.

5. Jesus keeps this promise. We see the effect of the Spirit in the lives of Jesus’ first followers. Acts 4:1-14, Acts 9:1-12 is contrasted with Acts 20:22-24.

6. The Spirit still works in people’s lives. See the life of Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi. Ask the children to share their thoughts on anyone.
