In
the morning the elders of the people, including the chief priests and
scribes, assembled. They had Jesus brought in and demanded: If you are the
Saviour whom God has promised his people, then tell us. Jesus answered: Even
if I were to tell you, you would not believe me! And if I were to ask you,
you would not give me an answer. But from now on the Son of Man will sit at
the right hand of God. Then they asked him: So you are the Son of God? Jesus
replied: You yourselves have said it, I am. They all exclaimed: Now we need
no further witnesses against him. We have all heard what he has said.
