Jesus
drew near to the city of Jericho. There, a blind man sat
by the roadside begging. When he noticed that more people than usual were
passing by, he asked: What is happening? They told him: Jesus of Nazareth is coming to the city.
The blind man began to shout: Jesus, Son of David! Have pity on me! The
people going in front of Jesus scolded him: Hold your tongue! Be quiet! But
he cried out all the louder: Son of David! Have pity on me!
Jesus
stopped and had the blind man brought to him. When he stood before him, Jesus
asked: What do you want me to do for you? The blind man said: Lord, I would
like to see again. Jesus said: You can see. Your faith has healed you. From
that moment on, the blind man could see. He went with Jesus and praised God.
All the other people there praised God too.
